I am planning on going to college (do not know what career I am going for) but I am wondering if real estate is a good career to get into, if it is a financially stable career, and how hard it is to get into it.

Is real estate a good career to get into

I know someone that just went to work for an estate agent in London. He was making coffees & stuff. 5 years later he got the hang of it & purchased his own house. 7 years later he owns 35 houses, each of it being worth about half a million UK pounds. In all that is about 35 million dollars but he is not stopping, all homes r rented out & he is buying about 15 new homes every year.
He has no school qualifications, he just sussed out how to get his loan from the bank for the first home & then he repeated it.
He says the first one was the difficult one, now banks love to lend him money.

It really depends on where u live. Some markets will be easy for u to go into.

The biggest mistake that people make is that they think that in order to get into real estate they have to waste college tuition money on it.

Go to anthonyschools.com

I had the best experience there. You go to classes when u want to. If u go to college on Mons & Weds, u can take Tues Thurs real estate clases or weekend classes. they really work around ur schedule. I suggest u do not do it online though. They have good instructors that taught me so much. Their instructors r current real estate agents. They teach u everything u need to know about the test. Learning about real estate is not something u can teach in books. The real estate courses u take at Anthony Schools r all about passing the test. That is the number one thing u need to worry about first.

Once u past the test, & get ur license, investigate some of the best real estate agents or offices in ur area & get the courage to professionally ask an agent if u can be their understudy & if u can shadow them & learn what u need to know. Unfortunately, u will have to work for them for free in the beginning months, since not every agent will pay for an assistant, or at least want to afford. But the knowledge they will teach u is golden & nothing that u can learn in a book. Real estate is not all the same. There r so many ways of selling real estate that after u pass the test & get the license & actually start working WITH an agent, u will realize everything u learned in ur class does not pertain to real life.

IF u r serious about real estate, do these steps. About only 12% of the people that get their license in real estate actually use it & make a career out of it. That is because they invest all this money into getting their license without knowng anything abou it. They get so caught up on their stupid business cards & pictures & their logo & slogans & all the crap that does not actually sell homes.

Do not listen to those scamming agents like on craigslist that promise u will make THOUSANDS of dollars. They r liars & use u sot that they can take advantage of ur naive knowledge or real estate & will use u til u fail them, & u wo not learn a thing. You have to learn real estate by experiencing it & that is the only way u can do it. And also, some of the key points in being a good agent u can not really teach, it is all within u - such as personality, salesmanship, etc. I worked with an awesome agent & he was able to teach me to not be a stuck up agent. it depends on the kinds of clients u want. But remember, u do not have to sell million dollar homes to be a million dollar agent.

Also, a good agent familiar with REOs & foreclosures or short sales will teach u a different angle in building real estate wealth.

Most importantly, keep ur credit clean. When u learn about real estate, u will want to use ur tactics to do ur own investing & make sure ur credit is in good standing when u make that decision,

IF u have any further questions email me. Trust me, I've made almost every single mistake in real estate to know what to do & not to do.

Good luck. And careful with those agents that want to take advantage of you.. ther r a lot of sharks out there, I would unfortunately know.

It a kind of a sales job. You needs to be tenacious and persistent in sales. And often frustrating. Go for economic or business administration instead.
